PB Works

A wiki-based tool to create web pages, share files, manage projects and collaborate with other users. Teachers can use it for classroom management and teamwork. Teachers can add students without email accounts. A free, basic account allows up to 100 students to use it. Evaluation: A collaborative tool that can foster students’ teamwork. It also can be a time-saving tool for teachers when it comes to managing projects, assessing student performance, and communicating with students on one single platform. Advanced IT skills are required for its use.

Medium. PB Works gathers personal information such as email addresses, full names, and billing information. It also collects cookies and displays third-party advertisements on its website. Users on PB Works can decide to set their virtual space as private. Its policy mentions that it has implemented reasonable security measures to protect user data. The policy indicates that users can modify or delete their Personal Data through their profiles on the site, which provides a level of user control. Users can also get to know by filling a form, although this functionality seems to be disabled as of 08/10/2023. PB Works states compliance with the GDPR. See more here.

Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
