Forvo

A word pronunciation site with translations provided for pronounced words. Users can request native speakers for the pronunciation of single words or phrases. Native speakers of a language from around the world co-construct and build up the content by recording their voice to pronounce words.

Evaluation: Students can autonomously check and learn pronunciation of words. Teachers can provide the site as a reference resource for pronunciation. Keep in mind that the pronunciation is not necessarily standard. However, users who provide the pronunciation most of the time also indicate whether it belongs to a specific dialect and sometimes also the speech community they themselves belong to. Basic IT skills required for its use.
